It wasn’t what it seemed.‘The pictures of me dancing looked weird because they showed me right down on the floor but there was a reason. They have not only created a new building and a new space for doing shows, but a new model for bringing a museum into reality, through aligning the disparate goals of commerce, the collector, the public, the local educational bodies, the surrounding communities – an incredibly challenging endeavour.The museum was designed by Thomas Heatherwick, a British architect who had the inspiring yet difficult task of working with a building composed of 42 concrete tubes used to store grain that fed most of Europe during World War Two.
